November 2006 Survey Question

For those who have served (or who are currently serving) in the military: Have you encountered classist attitudes about your choice to serve? For everyone: Do you see a class divide in terms of who serves in the military? What does this mean for the military and the country?

Survey Responses:

I certainly see a class divide. I do not see the elite in this country who took us to war showing much compassion for those serving and their families. They should be weeping for those injured and killed. They are treated like numbers. We are told the men and women are protecting are country from terrorists when this war is creating more anger in the Middle East and subsequently more terrorists. Everything is lies. War is so harmfull. How does one sleep after killing women and children. Bring our troops home.
