Monthly Action Against Classism

Start or join a community garden
Community gardens are great common spaces. They are used by all types of people in all types of towns, cities and countries. Start one, join one, or support your local one by asking what they need! Weed for 10 minutes daily, offer to water on weekends, or share your gardening knowledge!
The American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) is a bi-national nonprofit membership organization of professionals, volunteers and supporters of community greening in urban and rural communities. The Association recognizes that community gardening improves the quality of life for people by providing a catalyst for neighborhood and community development, stimulating social interaction, encouraging self-reliance, beautifying neighborhoods, producing nutritious food, reducing family food budgets, conserving resources and creating opportunities for recreation, exercise, therapy and education. They can help you find your local garden or to start one in your neighbor.
