Bridge the Digital Divide!
The national initiative "Internet for Everyone" is comprised of “public interest, civic and industry groups” and was formed at the end of June 2008 to address the digital divide. They are calling for a national broadband policy that will make the internet accessible to everyone in the US. Click on the interactive map on their homepage to see how your state stacks up in terms of broadband access.
Click here and you will be contacted on how you can help the campaign. The group will first be conducting a series of public hearings in the hopes of “spark[ing] a broader dialogue and gather public input to guide a national broadband plan.” To find out about upcoming hearings, or to participate in one, send an inquiry to contact@internetforeveryone.org.
